A NURSERY in Whitley has something to celebrate after retaining their “good” rating following a recent Ofsted inspection.
Inspectors thought the leadership team at SureStart Whitley had maintained a good quality of education in all areas since the last inspection in 2015.
The nursery was particularly praised for its relationship with parents, and its effective safeguarding and staff’s knowledge of the children and safeguarding procedures.
Nursery Manager, Becky Gibson, was singled out in the inspection for her dedication and commitment, also observing that she is positively driving continuous improvement at the Nursery through her methods to evaluate the provision, and monitors development very well.
Ofsted recognised that “staff foster children’s personal development extremely well. Children’s positive behaviour and kindness is shared and celebrated, helping them to feel extremely proud of their achievements.”
“Children are developing good skills at communicating. Staff spend time encouraging conversation and the younger children develop their language skills as staff talk to them while they play, and that staff have high expectations for children’s learning and accurately assess their stages of development.”
Nursery Manager Ms Gibson said:
“We are proud that OFSTED recognised how committed we are to ensuring good outcomes for all children. We are a motivated team with high aspirations and we remain focused on developing the setting even further.”
Councillor Jan Gavin, Lead Councillor for Children’s Services said:
“I was delighted to read the Ofsted report for SureStart Whitley. The nursery has really shown that children who come here receive a great start to their education, and I was particularly pleased to see the close relationship between the parents and staff.”
