FAMILIES are in for festive fun at Reading Museum this December, with Christmas themed workshops and activities galore.
Back by popular demand on Saturday 3rd and Saturday 10th December, children can become LEGO® VIPs at Build a Bauble LEGO® Brick workshops, run by internationally acclaimed brick expert Kevin Hall.
During these brilliant building sessions, Kevin will help inspire kids to create Christmas themed models to fit inside a bauble to hang on their Christmas tree (bauble kits available at the workshop for an extra £2 each).
The 45-minute sessions run throughout the day, starting at 10am, 11am, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm. At only £10 per person, booking is essential to avoid disappointment – these workshops fill up quickly. The workshops are suitable for children age 5+.
There is a chance to meet Father Christmas at the museum’s Victorian Winter Grotto on Saturday 3rd, Saturday 10th and Thursday 22nd December. Step back into Christmases past and make traditional decorations to take home.
Kids can compose a letter and then present it to Father Christmas, with each child receiving a small gift to take away. All visitors on Saturday 3rd, Saturday 10th and Thursday 22nd December will receive a special 10% discount in the Museum Shop – a great opportunity to purchase special gifts in time for Christmas.
These half-hour sessions (5+), start at 10am – 12pm and 1pm – 3pm and cost just £5 per person (booking essential).
The museum will close at 4pm on 23rd December and reopen in the New Year on Tuesday 3rd January.
Cllr Paul Gittings, Reading’s Lead Member for Culture, said:
