MUSIC and film enthusiasts across the town have a new resource with the introduction of the unlimited Audio Visual (AV) membership at Libraries in the Borough.
This new membership will allow residents to borrow up to 10 DVDs or CDs at one time for no charge, and enjoy them for double the normal time – DVDs for two weeks, and CD’s for four weeks. The membership can be enjoyed for an additional £50 a year, which is paid on signing up.
Councillor Sarah Hacker, Reading Borough Council Lead Member for Culture, Sport and Consumer Services said:
“This new membership equates to 13 boxsets in a year, so it’s a brilliant opportunity to watch your favourite TV shows or listen to your favourite music for longer, while saving money on the purchase of them.”
Anybody interested in the scheme should contact their Library directly where they will be required to register. Existing members will still be required to register, but will not need to provide any ID. Any item returned late will be fined at a rate of £1 per item, per day.
